Best Sleepers Fantasy Football 2024: Trevor Lawrence, Jayden Daniels, Rico Dowdle, Joshua Palmer

A clutch sleeper can help you win your NFL fantasy football league when you turn a late-round pick into a points machine. These sleepers are often veteran players that are overlooked and undervalued at fantasy betting sites, or untested rookies that fantasy owners are not willing to take a risk on.

Several players were available in multiple fantasy football drafts that we grabbed because they offered tremendous value and upside as a sleeper. Some of these 2024 sleepers include quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars), Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders), and Will Levis (Tennessee Titans). This year’s running back sleepers include Jerome Ford (Cleveland Browns) and Rico Dowdle (Dallas Cowboys). You can also find sleeper value with wide receivers Joshua Palmer (Los Angeles Chargers) and Khalil Shakir (Buffalo Bills), along with tight end Colby Parkinson (Los Angeles Rams).

Trevor Lawrence

After a promising sophomore season with the Jaguars in 2022, a banged-up Trevor Lawrence went 8-8 as a starter in 2023 and the Jaguars missed the playoffs. Lawrence completed 65.6% of his passes for 4,016 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also scampered for 339 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Lawrence caught a bit of bad luck because the Jaguars' receivers dropped more passes than any other team in the league. The Jaguars lost Calvin Ridley in free agency to the Tennessee Titans, but they added deep-ball threat Gabe Davis from the Buffalo Bills.

Jayden Daniels

Jayden Daniels won the Heisman Trophy with LSU last season, and he denied USC’s Caleb Williams a chance at winning the Heisman in back-to-back seasons. The Chicago Bars selected Williams as the #1 pick, but the Washington Commanders were happy to draft Daniels with the second-overall pick. The versatile Daniels accounted for 50 touchdowns last season at LSU including 40 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing scores. He racked up 1,134 rushing yards at 8.4 yards per carry. Scouts compared Daniels to NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, which is why the Commanders didn't want to pass up on a chance to draft him. The rookie is slated to start for the Commanders this season, so he has a chance to make an instant impact. Dan Quinn takes over as head coach of the Commanders, and they hired Kliff Kingsbury as their offensive coordinator. Daniels has an opportunity to thrive in Kingsbury's system.

Will Levis

Will Levis started eight games as a rookie last season with the Tennessee Titans and posted solid numbers without any standout WRs. During his eight starts, he was ranked #15 overall in fantasy points among quarterbacks. Brian Callahan takes over as head coach of the Titans after several successful seasons as the offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals. The Titans also upgraded their offense by adding Calvin Ridley, and they also have DeAndre Hopkins and Tyler Boyd on their roster.

Best NFL Fantasy RB Sleepers for 2024

Rico Dowdle and Jerome Ford are some of the top choices for the best RB sleepers for NFL Fantasy.

Rico Dowdle

The Cowboys have a pair of aging running backs on their roster with Ezekiel Elliot and Dalvin Cook. Both are a couple steps slower than their peak seasons a few years ago. Rico Dowdle, a fifth-year RB out of South Carolina, is the fastest and most durable RB on the Cowboys, so it's only a matter of time before he gets most of the touches. Dowdle saw limited action last year but rushed 89 times for 361 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 4.1 yards per carry. He also added 17 receptions and two touchdown catches.

Jerome Ford

The Cleveland Browns relied on Jerome Ford to take over as the starter when Nick Chubb went down with a gruesome injury. In 17 games last season, Ford combined for 1,132 yards from scrimmage with nine touchdowns. He averaged 4.0 yards per carry and added 44 receptions. Ford will begin this season as RB #1 until Chubb returns from his injuries.

Best WR Sleepers 2024 Fantasy Draft:

Joshua Palmer and Khalil Shakir are our top picks for the best WR sleepers for 2024 draft.

Best NFL Fantasy Sleeper WRs 2024Team
Joshua PalmerLos Angeles Chargers
Khalil ShakirBuffalo Bills

Joshua Palmer

The Los Angeles Chargers parted ways with their top two veteran WRs in Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Fourth-year WR Joshua Palmer has now become the top target for gunslinger Justin Herbert, which makes Palmer a worthy sleeper. The other WRs on the Chargers are Quentin Johnston, DJ Chark, and rookie Ladd McConkey.

Khalil Shakir

Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir emerged as a trusted target of Josh Allen late in the 2023 season and in the playoffs. He caught at least one touchdown in each of the Bills' postseason games last year. Now entering his third season with the Bills, Shakir has the longest tenure in the locker room after Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis left the team. Over the last four seasons, Allen averages 23.5 passing attempts per game, so it's safe to assume Shakir will get most of the targets in 2024 as WR #1.

Best TE Sleeper: Colby Parkinson

The Los Angeles Rams signed tight end Colby Parkinson, formerly with the Seattle Seahawks, to a lucrative contract this offseason. He averaged only 25 receptions and two touchdowns in each of the last two seasons in Seattle, but he split time with Noah Fant. Parkinson will begin the season as the starter with the Rams because Tyler Higbee is out. Veteran quarterback Mathew Stafford quickly developed a rapport with Parkinson. With opposing defenses looking to shut down star WRs Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, Parkinson has a chance to make an impact in the offense.
